1. Who is responsible for your information
Pamojo Errands for Diaspora Ltd, trading as Pamojo, based in Lagos, Nigeria, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website, the Pamojo Concierge, our WhatsApp and Instagram channels and our errand services. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Where we offer services to people in the United Kingdom through a UK entity, we will also follow UK data protection law. For any privacy question, contact privacy@pamojo.com.ng.
2. Information we collect
About you, the client: your name, phone and WhatsApp number, email address, country of residence, the messages and voice notes you send us, your errand details, your signatures on agreements (including the time, IP address and device used), and your payment history. Card payments are handled by Paystack or PayPal, and we receive only confirmation of payment and limited card details such as the last four digits.
About the people and places in your errand: names, phone numbers and addresses of the people you ask us to deliver to or visit, property addresses and access details, and information you tell us about their needs. Only give us information you have a right to share, and let them know you have asked us to help.
Proof of work: photos, videos and audio recorded during errands, with the time and location they were taken, receipts, and confirmation codes from recipients.
Health information: if an errand involves visiting a patient or an elderly relative, we may learn about their health. We collect only what the errand needs, and only with the consent of the person concerned or their family where they cannot consent.
Website use: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, used to keep the website secure and working.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
- To carry out your errands and manage your account, because it is necessary for our contract with you.
- To take and confirm payments, keep financial records and meet tax obligations, because the law requires it.
- To prove the work was done, because it is necessary for our contract and in our legitimate interest in showing honest service.
- To keep people safe and prevent fraud, in our legitimate interests and those of the people we serve.
- To use photos or videos in our marketing, only with the clear consent of you and the people shown. This is off unless you switch it on.
- To send you reminders and news about Pamojo, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. How we use AI
The Pamojo Concierge uses AI services from providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI and DeepSeek to understand your messages, draft quotes and updates, and read receipts. We send these providers only the information the task needs, under business terms that stop them using your information to train their models. By default, we do not send personal information to DeepSeek, whose service stores data in China. A person at Pamojo reviews every price, every completed errand and every report before it counts.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with people and companies who help us run the service: payment providers (Paystack, PayPal), messaging providers (Meta for WhatsApp and Instagram, email and SMS services), cloud hosting and storage providers, AI providers as described above, and helpers or vendors who work on your errand, who receive only what they need. We share information with authorities where the law requires it. We never sell your information.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers store information outside Nigeria, including in the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. When this happens, we rely on the safeguards allowed by the Nigeria Data Protection Act, such as the provider’s data protection commitments and contractual protections.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and errand records: for six years after your last errand, to meet tax and legal requirements.
- Photos and videos of errands: 24 months, then archived securely, unless you ask us to delete them sooner and we do not need them for a dispute.
- Signed agreements: for six years after the errand ends.
- Concierge conversations that did not become an errand: 12 months.
- Marketing consent records: for as long as the consent applies, and two years after it is withdrawn.
8. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, to have it deleted where we no longer need it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to take it elsewhere, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right not to be subject to decisions made only by automated means that significantly affect you. At Pamojo, a person always makes those decisions. To use any right, email privacy@pamojo.com.ng. We will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
9. Keeping it safe
We use encrypted connections, access controls, two-step sign-in for staff accounts, encryption for sensitive details such as gate codes, and regular backups. Links we send you expire, and every action on your account is logged.
10. Children
Our services are for adults. Errands may involve children, for example delivering school supplies, but we only take instructions from adults and we never film children for marketing.
